The shoes markets of mainland are combined with four parts: leather shoes, rubber-soled shoes, cloth shoes and plastic shoes. The importing shoes are better than the mainland's products on the materials and workmanship, but because of the high-price, the occupation in the markets is not very high, so the shoes of mainland are still in lead in the markets, the famous brands are " Baili", "Hason", "Jinho", "Fuguiniao", " Kangnai", " Aokang", " Wanli" etc.

The production of shoes in mainland is mainly low and middle-grade, in 1999, the total output is about 6 billion pairs, the proportion is about 50% in the global shoes products. The annual output of leather shoes is about 2.4 billion pairs, the proportion is about 40% in global leather shoes output, and the occupation in the middle and low-grade markets is over 85%.

The output of the rubber-soled shoes in mainland is the number one in the world, the production ability is 1.35 billion pairs. Now, the actual output is 0.91 billion to 0.92 billion pairs, the farming areas is the main consuming place, the proportion is about 2/3 in the total consuming quantity of the mainland's rubber-sole shoes. Besides, the cloth shoes wears comfortable, the price is cheap, the consumers are extended from old people to the youth, the requests of cities for the cloth shoes are exceeding the requests of the country.

There are five big shoes production bases in mainland, they are Guangdon、Fujian、Wenzhou、Chengdu、Chongqin, the related enterprises are over 20 thousand.
